After surgery

On Wednesday, April 6th, I had rotator cuff surgery on my left shoulder. I went home the same day as I was operated on. It was no fun spending time in a reclining chair. It was only recently, that I was allowed to sleep in my own bed again. A special physical therapy machine, that I must use for a least 3 times a day for over 1 hour each session, keeps me very busy. Having very little use of my left arm is not easy. Normal shirts can't be worn due to a sling on my left arm restricting movement. T-shirts can't be worn yet.  Pain medicine and ice packs are very helpful.  When I first came home from the hospital, they had a pain block with morphine on my left shoulder hung from a strap. While this was operational, my breathing had to be supplemented by my C-pak breathing machine. When I failed to use this machine, I found normal breathing to be difficult. I could only go on the computer for a short time before being out of breath.

My doctor, Doctor Joshua Neubauer, did an excellent job on my shoulder. I wish to thank him for his hard work with three hours of operating on my shoulder to repair it. I am very glad that the surgery was done. Now I have some hope of reusing my left shoulder again. Thanks once again to Dr. Neubauer for all of your hard work.
