After our weekend in White Bear Lake, Minnesota to visit my son Kurt and his family, we were glad to be at home again. We missed Brownie, our fox terrier, who stayed at the vet's while we were gone. Kurt and Olivia's dog George, is a lot like Brownie. While up north, we missed having Brownie with us. He hated it when we took him to the vet for boarding, but when we returned from vacation he was very happy to see us.
There is an old phrase,"There is no place like home". This is always true. While we enjoyed ourselves up north, it was not the same as being at home. At home we have our own set ways of doing things and our furniture is set the way we like it. We are able to get out of our favorite chairs with ease and not needing anybody to help us. It is no fun getting old. As long as we grow old together, we will be at ease with our situation. It is kind of fun having Brownie jump on my lap while I am reading. He also sleeps with us at night. There are certain things that just are not the same when you travel. I wish to thank Kurt and Olivia for having us at their house and providing a room for us. Brownie is back to his usual habits and at ease being home again.
