David Carr wrote a great piece in Sunday’s NY Times about the stunning defeat last week of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, shown here talking to reporters after his huge loss. It speaks directly to a lazy, out of touch news media.
I highly recommend reading the entire piece. While doing so, imagine you’re a reporter who covers Washington and never leaves Washington. Try to think of how such a person might react to this piece.
My guess is like Cantor that such a person is arrogant, is in complete denial, and won’t accept the harsh reality Carr writes about.
