If you notice, many softball baseball leagues are starting their league play in county or municipal fields. Sijan Field, Beulah Brinton Baseball Field, Lewis Field, and many other places are there to hold these games. At Kenny Keltner Field, in Humboldt Park, you will find hardball baseball games. Some of the leagues are for men, women and coed teams. If you want to join a team, contact the team manager or the Milwaukee Public School Recreation Division to find out how to join. These games have gone on for over 100 years in some form or another. Here is a chance of watching or joining competition in this sport. Wilson Park has several ball fields to play on. Many of our school playgrounds offer an area for children to learn how to play softball. This is a sport for all ages to enjoy. At Miller Park, you can watch the Milwaukee Brewers play professional baseball in a beautiful stadium. If you drive all over Milwaukee or the south shore communities, you will find baseball fields. In fall, many of these same fields are used for football games. Soccer is also played in many of our parks. Enjoy some fresh air and watch a good game of baseball or softball. I know that you will enjoy doing this. Popcorn, soda, hot dogs, potato chips and beer are very handy at this time. (You may not take beer or alcoholic beverages to most baseball, softball, soccer or football games.) If beer is sold at the ball field, then you can drink it there. Enjoy yourself this summer and go outside into the fresh air and do some walking. This is very good for your health. Do it as a family and it will be great.
