Each of my children own dogs. Mary, Mark, Kurt and David are the children. It is fun visiting each house and playing with the various dogs. Each has its own temperament. Most of them are very good with children. One is a little cautious with strangers and children. Dogs are like little children. They need a lot of attention, besides their time with the family and children. Many of them are lap dogs who like to come up to you and come into your lap.
Puppies are a different story. If they are untrained with potty training, they can be quite a bit of work. Cleaning up after a dog mess is not a lot of fun, but you still love the dog all the same. You have to be patient with each of them, as they are all individual in their activities. All of them look for any food or dog biscuits that you might have with you. If you take the time to play with them, they might give you a kiss. They all like to be petted as you play with them. It is fun to roughhouse with them, and later to lay down or sit down with them. Treat a dog like a little child, and you will have a great time with them. Treat them as you would like to be treated. Kindness to them results in love being returned to you.
A dog can be your greatest companion when you are home alone. I love being with dogs. They make my day complete. The only problem is that they choose the worst times to have to go outside. But, if you love a dog, this does not matter at all. It is all part of being a dog owner or dog lover. Enjoy visiting your family and also appreciate their loving dog. Too many dogs are not being adopted from our Wisconsin Humane Society. Take the time to visit there. If you want a dog, be ready to assume full responsibility as a dog owner. Taking the dog to the vet and giving it a bath are all part of this. Cleaning up after it, is another responsiblity of yours. This can be the most fulfilling time of your life. If you are home alone or without children, then owning a dog is the perfect answer for you. You will never feel alone again.
