John Manke is an active former Bay View resident who is involved in numerous neighborhood organizations, including the Bay View Historical Society, the Humboldt Park Fourth of July Association and the Shore Shore Farmers Market. He believes Bay View has a fine tradition in its past that we do not want to lose in the future.
May meeting of Humboldt Park 4th of July Association -- May 5, 2010
We will be holding the May meeting of the Humboldt Park 4th of July Association on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at 7 pm, in the park pavilion. All interested people are invited to attend and give their input at our planning of this event.
This is our centennial year and we want to have special activities for this year, including the return of our Talent Contest ( for this year ). We need more sponsors and volunteers for our Independence Day celebration. We especially need judges for the parade, children's games, Bike, Trice, Doll Buggy and Coaster Wagon contest and other things on that day.
If you are interested in helping volunteer on that day, please contact President, Larry Reeve at 414-643-5427 or Penny Manke at 414-304-5039. Without our sponsors and volunteers, we would have been unable to celebrate our Independence Day event for over 100 years, since 1910. I wish to thank everyone who has helped us, both now, in the past and in the future. This is the best July 4th celebration in the City of Milwaukee, We would like to keep it that way for future generations.
A note of reference, Independence Day will be celebrated on Monday, July 5th this year. Please support our Humboldt Park 4th of July Association.
