Less Than One Week Remains until Medicare 21% Physicians Reimbursement Cuts

Re: One Week Remains until Medicare 21% Physicians Reimbursement Cuts

Dear Senator Feingold:

Only one week remains until the current moratorium expires on May 31, 2010, and to the best of my knowledge Congress continues to do nothing to correct this 8 year old problem.

What I fail to understand is why the 111th Congress continues to delay and extend the moratorium for a few weeks at a time when previous Congresses since 2002 have extended the moratorium for one year at a time. Such indecision on the part of the 111th Congress only costs more unnecessary taxpayer dollars.

Physicians continue to announce closings of their practice. Others have already stopped seeing their Medicare / Tricare / Tricare for Life patients.

The time remaining is not enough time to consider serious repeal of the Sustained Growth Rate (SGR) formula which mandates these cuts. Is there any serious thought being applied for a SGR alternative?

This is a priority of the American People! Please work to correct this continuing hiatus.

Respectfully,
