Providing positive information about the Bay View area schools.
Last December, Clement Ave. School, located at 3666 S. Clement Ave., in Milwaukee, presented several productions of the Willy Wonka JR. musical. 455 people attended 3 shows. 150 people attended a Friday dinner theater, 180 people attended a matinee show and another 150 attended the Saturday dinner theater. Tony Clark, from TV Station Channel 6, said" He thought that the show would be amazing and definately worth covering."
Many students and staff were all part of the show. Teachers taught students the various parts of the production from acting, stage crew, costume making, set designs, singing and dancing. It was an all school event with the food service manager and 26 students serving the dinner. The tables were covered with tablecloths and had centerpieces.
The idea for the dinner came from staff members and was fully supported by Clement's principal. April Swick. This year's musical was a success and they are already thinking about next year. Special thanks to all of the staff, students and others who helped in any way. This is an example of positive things that are happening in our Milwaukee Public Schools.
