Collin C. Drews
Collin C. Drews of Rhinelander died Feb. 6, 2009, at age 67.
He was born on June 17, 1941, in Milwaukee to Arthur and Gladys Drews. After his high school graduation, he attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where he earned his degree in education. He served as a teacher at West Allis High School for two years before attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he earned his master's degree in biology.
He then attended the Marquette University School of Dentistry, earning his doctorate of dental surgery. He was a dentist for more than 30 years in Rhinelander and continued his practice until the time of his death. He married Anne Guilday, and they celebrated 26 years of marriage together.
He enjoyed many outdoor activities including fishing and cross-country skiing. He served as a father figure to many and will be fondly remembered for his thriftiness.
He is survived by his wife, Anne Drews of Rhinelander; two children, Summer Drews, who is attending the Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, and Adam Drews of Rhinelander; two brothers, Tom Drews of Florida and John (Jean) Drews of Milwaukee; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Service of remembrance was Feb. 11 with Chaplain John Uhlarik officiating.
A memorial was established in his name.
Carlson Funeral Home, Rhinelander, handled the arrangements.
