Arthur W. Schwartz
Arthur W. Schwartz of South Milwaukee died March 1, 2009, at age 87.
His greatest joy was his family, which included his wife, four children, three grandchildren and two sons-in-law. He was a loving husband of 57 years.
He served in the Army Air Corps in the South Pacific during World War II while based on Guam. He would often share stories about his experiences in the Army.
He was a wonderful musician and loved to play the concertina and accordion. He formed the popular Art Schwartz Band and played at ballroom dances, weddings and anniversaries.
He was a dedicated employee of Ladish Co. for 45 years. He was an avid baseball fan who loved to follow the Milwaukee Brewers. He kept active in his retirement years by working on projects around the house and yard, and relaxing with his loving family.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia (nee Bladzik); children, Arthur Jr., Jeffery, Dawn (Steve) Hunsberger and Maryann (Leonard) Peace; grandchildren, Alex and Christine Hunsberger and Brandon Peace; "special daughter," Michelle Heinan; sister, Agnes Litka; sister-in-law, Alice Schwartz (the late Harvey); other relatives and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sophie Schwartz; brothers, John, Peter and Harvey; and sister, Virginia Bucholz.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated March 7 at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, South Milwaukee. Interment with full military honors was at St. Adalbert Cemetery.
Church and Chapel Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
