Richard D. Sobocinski
Richard D. Sobocinski died July 15, 2009, in Fountain Hills, Ariz.
He was born Dec. 4, 1926, in Cudahy and lived there for more than 60 years. He married the former Ann Durek on April 30, 1949. He was a member of the Ladish Co. management team when he retired in 1987 after 40 years of service and moved to Fountain Hills.
He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, a former Cudahy alderman and was active in many civic organizations, including the Cudahy Chamber of Commerce, the Lions Club, the Knights of Columbus and the Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ann; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas R. Sobocinski and Debby (Zimmer); daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Juley and Michael Juley; grandchildren, Justin Juley, Lindsay Juley, Mark Sobocinski and Melissa (Sobocinski) Chipman; son-in-law, Jesse Chipman; and great-granddaughter, Megan Ann Chipman.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Angeline (Andrcejewski); father, Walter; and brother, Howard.
Richard was interred with full military honors at the Veterans Administration Cemetery in Arizona on July 24, 2009. A memorial service will be held in Cudahy at a later date.
