Recycle, renew and revamp your wardrobe at Swap-O-Rama-Rama from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 17, at Future Green, 2352 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.
In addition to the swap itself, participants can take advantage of areas featuring silkscreening, embroidery, knitting, stamping and sewing equipment as well as fashion entertainment featuring local and eco-friendly designers.
"Swap-O-Rama-Rama inspires people to take an active role in creating fashion. By recycling, and re- styling clothing, you are doing something important - reducing landfill waste but also making an item your own," explains Lisa Sim, an event organizer. "Buying a manufactured item off a mannequin - that's making a consumer choice. Taking half an hour to alter and silkscreen a t-shirt - that's true personal style!"
Admission is $5, and participants are asked to bring a bag of clothing, outerwear, shoes or accessories (laundered and suitable for reuse) to swap. All unswapped goods will be donated to a local charity.
