Ophthalmology Associates, 6020 S. Packard Ave., was broken into and $723 in cash, $1,300 in personal checks as well as $100 DVD player were stolen sometime between 7:15 p.m. March 28 and 7:45 a.m. March 29.
A 25-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for stealing a $200 prepaid phone from Radio Shack, 5807 S. Packard Ave., around 4 p.m. March 25. She was found and taken into custody in an apartment complex in the 5700 of South Packard Avenue.
A 26-year-old Cudahy man and a 24 year-old Milwaukee man were arrested around 10:30 p.m. March 27 during a traffic stop in the 3800 block of East Barnard Avenue for theft from the Cudahy man's grandmother and illegal possession of prescription drugs. The Cudahy man tried to throw away oxycodone, Adderall and other pills during the traffic stop. The Milwaukee man admitted that he sold some prescription drugs to the Cudahy man and stole old valuable coins, savings bonds, $200 cash and an old wedding ring from the Cudahy man's grandmother as payment.
A 24-year-old Cudahy man was arrested for theft a block away from Speedway, 4944 S. Packard Ave., around 2:30 p.m. March 28, after employees confronted him for stealing within the store and called police. The man gave up most of the items he tried to steal, but was found by police with a can Red Bull that he had not paid for.
At least six bottles of men's body wash worth $33 were stolen from Walgreens, 6241 S. Packard Ave., at around 5 p.m. March 28. Using security footage, police have confirmed that the man that took the items has stolen merchandise from the same store in the past.
A 38-year-old St. Francis man was cited for battery after he was involved in a scuffle with upstairs neighbor's son in his yard in the 5500 block of South Disch Avenue at around 7:30 p.m. April 4. The victim received minor scratch wounds on his neck after the aggressor tried to choke him.
A 25-year-old South Milwaukee man was arrested for having 0.3 grams of marijuana at 9 p.m. March 31. The man was arrested during a traffic stop in the 6200 block of South Packard Avenue because he was driving with a suspended driver's license.
A $200 window pane in a residence in the 3700 block of East Underwood Avenue was shattered by an egg that was thrown at it sometime on March 27.
A 30-year-old South Milwaukee man was arrested at St. Luke's South Shore Hospital, 5900 S. Lake Drive, around 3 p.m. March 30, after he cut a cord in the hospital bed he had just been discharged from and attempted to light a cigarette causing $200 in damage. A warrant was also out on the man for shoplifting in South Milwaukee.
A 21-year-old South Milwaukee woman was cited after she admitted that she keyed the car of her ex-boyfriend's current girlfriend causing $500 in damages while the car was parked in the lot of Parkview School, 5555 S. Nicholson Ave., South Milwaukee, around 9 p.m. April 4.
A 45-year-old Cudahy man and a 41-year-old Milwaukee woman were arrested for disorderly conduct after they both negligently contributed the start of a fire in an apartment complex in the 4900 block of South Packard Avenue at around 10 p.m. April 4. The man started a small fire in the kitchen engulfing a stove and a chair in front of it as he attempted to cook chicken breasts while too drunk to stand upright, and the woman was also too intoxicated to call emergency services. Police also found a 12-inch steak knife concealed in the man's sock, for which he was also cited.
Police responded to three domestic violence incidents.
A gray storage case containing more than 300 tools collectively worth about $250 was stolen from a wooden storage locker in an apartment building in the 4000 block of South Packard Avenue, sometime between mid-March and April 6.
A wallet was stolen out of a purse at Hardee's Restaurant, 2450 E. Layton Ave., while the owner was in the restaurant's play area with her children, during the evening hours of April 5. The wallet did not contain much cash, but did contain banking information and the woman's Social Security card.
Prescription drugs for blood pressure and pain were stolen from a residence in the 1100 block of Park Avenue by guests there sometime between March 22 and March 24.
Three remote-controlled toy cars and at least seven matchbox cars, worth $125, were stolen from a store located at 1203 Milwaukee Ave. at some point between March 23 and mid-April. No forced signs of forced entry were observed on the doors of the store.
About 45 alprazolam pills were stolen from a coat pocket at a house party in the 1300 block of Michigan Avenue, during the evening of March 23.
A man was arrested for theft on city bus after he took $393 in merchandise from Walgreens, 2985 S. Chicago Ave., at around 3 p.m. March 29. In this case, he stole several DVDs from Walgreens, and the store manager followed him and the bus he got onto until police were able to stop the bus.
A $600 electronic tablet was stolen from a residence in the 800 block of Marquette Avenue at around 9 p.m. March 30 after the resident had guests inside the home.
An employee of Walmart, 222 N. Chicago Ave., was reported to have stolen $550 of gaming equipment at around 10 a.m. April 1. The employee took items including a game console and a controller from the shelves. The store has not yet opened for business.
The theft of an envelope containing $680 from a residence in the 100 block of Brookdale Drive was reported around 8 p.m. April 1, after the resident had guests inside the home.
A purse containing $2,000 and a bottle of oxycodone pills was stolen from a parked car in the lot of Speedway, 3102 S. Chicago Ave., around 6:30 p.m. April 5. The purse was recovered without the contents. The woman admitted she was there to sell a 17-year-old boy some of the pills but declined to do it at the meet. She suspected that the boy stole the purse while she was inside the store.
A 36-year-old Oak Creek man was arrested for drunken driving during a traffic stop in the parking lot of McDonald's, 2715 S. Chicago Ave., around 6 p.m. March 28, after someone called to report that the driver had crossed a median and nearly hit a motorcyclist. The man's blood alcohol content has not yet been reported.
A 25-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving on the corner of Nicholson and Manitoba avenues at around 8 p.m. March 29. The man's BAC has not yet been reported.
A 24-year-old South Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, second offense, after his car was found flipped on its roof in the 1200 block of Drexel Avenue, at around 2 a.m. April 5. The man had a BAC of 0.23.
Graffiti was found on the side of the beach house, 100 Hawthorne Ave., in the Grant Park Golf Course, at around 11 a.m. March 26. The graffiti will cost $800 to remove.
A man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he punched another man causing his nose to bleed, in the parking lot of Speedway, 2301 10th Ave., at around 4:30 p.m. March 24. The two men brawled in the parking lot until other patrons of the gas station separated them.
A 31-year-old South Milwaukee woman was arrested for disorderly conduct at her apartment building in the in 800 block of Hawthorne Avenue around 2 a.m. March 26. Her downstairs neighbor complained about noise that the woman was causing and she came to the neighbor's door and started punching that neighbor when the door was opened.
A 17-year-old girl was arrested for underage consumption of alcohol, possession of both drugs and drug paraphernalia and battery at her residence in the 1200 block of Menomonee Avenue at around 6 a.m. March 26. Police were called to the scene after the girl's mother complained that the girl was attacking her.
A man was found dead of unknown causes outside of his apartment building in the 1200 block of Michigan Avenue, around 9 p.m. March 26. The man was identified as 44-year-old Gregory Lebeau, and it was unclear how long the man had been dead.
The windshield of a truck was shot out with a BB or pellet gun causing $500 in damage while the truck was parked in the 900 block of Blake Avenue sometime during the evening of March 28 and the morning of March 29.
A car window was smashed while the vehicle was parked in the 1700 block of Rawson Avenue, sometime during the evening of March 28 and the morning of March 29. The window will cost $750 to replace.
Rocks were thrown through the front windows of two residences in the 1700 block of Hickory Street sometime between 5:30 p.m. March 29 and 7 a.m. March 30.
The radiator and windshield of a dump truck as well as the windshield of a pickup truck were found with damage that will cost $2,700 to repair, while both were parked in the lot of Gary's Quality Tractor Service, 1005 Columbia Ave., at around 6 p.m. April 2.
The window of a residence in the 800 block of Milwaukee Avenue was found pierced by what appeared to be a BB or bullet around 6:30 p.m. April 2. The window will cost $500 to replace.
Police were called to 14 domestic violence incidents between March 21 and 28 and eight from March 29 and April 5.
