Join WUWM for UWM DAY at the Wisconsin State Fair!

Visit WUWM’s booth from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.!

Learn how to be a public radio reporter, record a testimonial, play a game, enter to win prizes and more. WUWM staff will be on hand to talk about Milwaukee Public Radio and its programming.

Keeping You Informed. At 2 p.m., learn how WUWM journalists produce stories for broadcast. Then, it’s YOUR turn to interview WUWM’s journalists. Bring questions and you radio voice!

So You Think You Can Read? Contest.

Participate in WUWM’s judged, poetry-reading contest at 3 p.m. The winner will be invited to the WUWM studios to record the poem that will air on Lake Effect. Open to the public. Arrive 15 minutes early and sign-in at the WUWM table. For more information about the contest and the poem, visit or email
