Milwaukee Air & Water Show Announces 2013 Dates and Headliner

Milwaukee, Wis., Feb. 21, 2013….The event organizers of the Milwaukee Air & Water Show, presented by Marcus Hotels & Resorts, today announced the highly anticipated return of the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds to headline this year’s show August 3 and 4 along Milwaukee’s Lakefront. The air show practice date is scheduled for Friday, August 2.

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will be celebrating their 60th anniversary in 2013. Spectators will be able to witness the pride, precision and professionalism of the team in an hour-long demonstration along Milwaukee’s premier lakefront. Since the Thunderbird’s inception in 1953, the team has been representing America’s Airmen.

“Hosting the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds during their 60th anniversary is a true honor and a testament to our growth and success as Wisconsin’s number one air show and Milwaukee’s premier lakefront event,” said Paul Rogers, president of the Milwaukee Air & Water Show. “With the help of our major sponsors, supporters and the Milwaukee community, we are once again able to present a world-class lineup featuring America’s top military and civilian air show performers.”

In addition to the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, other exciting military acts coming to Milwaukee in August include the AV-8B Sea Harrier, U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team, U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancer, 128th Air Refueling Wing KC-135, C-130 Hercules, and many other military aircraft. Civilian acts include the GEICO Aerial Skytypers T-6 Team, AeroStars Aerobatic Team, Michael Goulian Airshows, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University featuring Matt Chapman, the Red Bull Aerobatic Helicopter, Firebirds X-Treme Aerobatic Team and aerobatic pilot, Bill Stein, the Aquanuts Ski Team, Seven Marine and Gary Burtka’s Jet Ski Stunt Show. Other military aircraft have been invited and are pending final confirmation.
