United Way Connects the Community to Volunteer Opportunities
(April 12, 2013) – Waukesha, WI – United Way in Waukesha County would like to invite volunteers to the following opportunities:

Workshop Aides, Waukesha
Spend time with adults with disabilities at this arts and crafts workshop. Volunteers will be making gifts and cards with, Goodwill Industries participants, to give to their mothers or caregivers. One to two volunteers are needed to assist with the crafts and snacks on Saturday, May 11 from 9:15am - 12:15pm. Volunteers must complete a mandatory application and orientation and should be 16 years or older.

Bowling Event, New Berlin
What's your specialty? Do you have an eye for detail? Maybe you could help process the bowling team member pledges. Friendly smile? Good Friend, Inc., would love to have you helping their service providers. Out-going, people-lover? You could probably ROCK some raffle ticket sales. Good Friend, Inc., is sure they can match your talents with our opportunities for their 5th annual Hoa Aloha Autism Awareness Bowling Event! Note that volunteers DO NOT have to stay the length of the event (10 a.m.-4 p.m.). Several 3-hour shifts are available. Volunteers will l need to be available by phone and email. Good Friend, Inc., will touch base with you before the event to discuss the particulars of your assignment. Age 16 or older, please.

District Aquatics Competition, Oconomowoc
Special Olympics Wisconsin in the Greater Milwaukee Region will be hosting a district aquatics competition on April 20, 2013 at YMCA at Pabst Farms in Oconomowoc WI. This district aquatics competition has one shift time for volunteers 11:30am - 5:30pm to assist athletes during their competition. Volunteers are needed for each shift. Please come out and support the athletes! Requirements: This volunteer opportunity is for those 14 years and older in age. With a chaperon 12-13 year olds may volunteer. A volunteer registration form is required to be filled out to sign-up. If you have a group of 10+ volunteers interested please contact the Region Office for Special Olympics Wisconsin to confirm details.

Holiday Dinner Theatre Event, Eagle
Old World Wisconsin is running a Holiday Dinner Theater event, Little Women; November 29 - December 22. Volunteers are needed for each scheduled show to hang/light historic lanterns prior to each show start, and help with attendee check-in and direction. Volunteers will also assist attendees at intermission. Requirements: Volunteers must be a minimum age of 18 years old; also note that most shows are scheduled in the evening.
