REFUGE SMOOTHIE CAFE' AND WILD FLOUR BAKERY & CAFE' TO COLLABORATE AND EXPAND IN BAY VIEW

May 29, 2014

MILWAUKEE, WI – May 27, 2014 – Locally owned and operated Refuge Smoothie Café plans to expand early June, 2014. The expansion includes two new locations, collaborating with fellow local business, Wild Flour Bakery and another location to be announced later in June.

Refuge Smoothie Café currently operates two locations, downtown at 763 N. Plankinton Avenue and an East Side location at 2328 N. Farwell Avenue. Refuge will be an addition to Wild Flour Bakery, located at 422 E. Lincoln Avenue in Bay View, offering a full menu of smoothies to compliment the bakery’s already vast menu of items. This will be the first time both companies share a split concept.

“At Refuge, we focus on quick and healthy options and are excited to be a compliment to Bay View,” said Joshua Janis, Owner/Operator of Refuge. He added, “Having used to live in Bay View, I feel like the residents will resonate with our mission statement "To enjoy our lives, and to help others enjoy theirs. That is what really drives us and ultimately why I created Refuge.”

The owners of Wild Flour Bakery and Refuge Smoothie Café will host a “Grand Opening” at the Bay View Wild Flour Location at 422 E. Lincoln Avenue. The owners invite everyone to celebrate with them and will offer complimentary samples of smoothies, breads, and bakery. The grand opening is set for Saturday, June 7, 2014 and is an all day event, from 9AM-7PM. Owners Dolly Mertens of Wild Flour Bakery and Joshua Janis of Refuge will be at the opening to meet and greet customers and talk to the ingredients and quality of their offerings.
