Free Concert April 5, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. with Chicago band “Actor Slash Model” at Unitarian Universalist Church West in Brookfield, WI

 

Actor Slash Model is Simon Strikeback and Madsen Minax. The duo brings a modern, indie touch to a well-rooted bluegrass sound. Combining tight harmonies, excellent musicianship, good humor, and a passionate energy, we bring you this noted band as an extension of our morning service on trans and gender variant issues.

 

Time Out Chicago calls ASM “our favorite genderqueer bluegrass duo” and they have embarked on several national tours, playing to enthusiastic and appreciative audiences. Gregg Shapiro of the Bay Area Reporter called their CD Cheap Date "the most impressive album debut in recent memory."

 

UUCW is located at 13001 W. North Ave., Brookfield. This concert is sponsored by the Music Program at UUCW. All are welcome – invite your friends for this wonderful program of engaging and uplifting music!
